Afro LatinX Festival

The Afro Latinx Festival at the Ruth Williams Opera House is Bayview–Hunters Point’s celebration of African and Latinx diasporas—through live music, dance, and food. We spotlight Black and Brown artists, pair emerging talent with legendary headliners, and present a high-quality production that masterfully display’s San Francisco’s cultural story.

About Afro LatinX Festival

David Saenz, Executive Producer of Afro Latin X Festival

Hola—I’m David Saenz, creator and producer of the Afro Latinx Festival at the historic Ruth Williams Bayview Opera House. I moved from Ecuador to San Francisco in 2004 and fell in love with this city’s creativity.

In 2017, I launched the festival to honor Bayview’s deep Black cultural legacy and build a living bridge between Afro Latinx and African American communities. As an Ecuadorian rooted in the African diaspora, this work is personal.

Who’s graced our stage?
Hosted by Gina Madrid with DJ Leydis, past artists include Chuchito Valdés, La Dame Blanche, Los Rakas, Bayonics, Oskar Ly & Rumbalú, and Elenah.
